Benefits of Meditation
If you meditate for any length of time then you now what tremendous benefits you can get from meditation. From my experience I found that it’s not the quality of any single meditation matters but the consistent practice of day-to-day mediation.
If you are still thinking if it is worth trying to meditate then here is the list of benefits you can enjoy if you engage in meditation practice.
It is very common to hear from people who meditate that the level of stress has been reduced significantly.
Meditation helps to reduce stress by teaching us to switch off from the worries that we go through every day. Meditation is an opportunity to spend time by ourselves, without feeling at the beck and call of others. Spending 15 minutes in quietening the mind and focusing on the present moment, makes us more relaxed and effective decision makers.
This meditation technique is my favorite one. It is fun and gives almost mystical experiences. However it does require to make some preparations.
Place a mirror large enough to see your face into a dark room. Place a candle next to the mirror so that it did not reflect in the mirror but you could see reflection of your face and eyes.
Now focus all your attention on the image of your eyes in the mirror. Look right into your eyes. Do not move them no matter what. Continue for 30-40 minutes. Repeat this procedure every day.
In a few days you will find that image of your face in mirror start changing. After another few days of such meditation there will be no face in the mirror just emptiness. That is the meditation state most meditation practitioners strive to achieve.
